This is a very classy and well-made custom sporting rifle in .30-06 Springfield caliber constructed with an FN 98 Mauser action, a fiberglass stock, and excellent optics. Whomever built this custom rifle did a superb job in building a super-strong utilitarian rifle that still has classic rifle good-looks. The heart of any rifle is the action, and this custom rifle has a Belgian FN Mauser action which is well known for being one of the strongest and most accurate actions in existence. The blued FN action was paired with a sporter-profile barrel with ERA iron sights chambered in .30-06 Springfield, and then dropped into a textured-finish fiberglass stock with a Pachmayer Decelerator recoil pad and sling swivel studs. The hinged floorplate and triggerguard are an alloy unit with a black finish, and the grooved trigger is an adjustable unit currently set at a very light pull. The bolt in this custom rifle is an FN Mauser unit with a full-length extractor, a custom spoon-shaped handle, a polished main body, a blued bolt shroud, and a custom Buehler safety lever. This extremely nice rifle was then topped with a matte-finished Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x36 scope with a standard duplex reticle on matte blue Leupold bases and rings. A set of Butler Creek flip-up caps were installed on the scope. We have no doubt that this rifle will flat-out shoot and make an excellent hunting rifle for the next owner.
