Desirable 1890 vintage Colt "Frontier Six Shooter" fitted with a 2-line 4 3/4 inch barrel, checkered "Standing Eagle" hard rubber grips, built on a black-powder frame, blue/color case-hardened finished, and chambered in .44/40. This Single Action is in excellent original condition, retaining 40% of its original blue finish and the frame and hammer retaining 60% of their original color case-hardened finishes. The bore is bright, with sharp rifling, and the action functions perfectly. The grips fit well and are in fine condition, with even wear overall and only one small chip on the bottom of the right grip. Most of the screw-heads are unmolested and the cylinder base pin is in very fine condition. Comes with a Colt factory letter stating gun was sent to Simmons Hardware Company located in St. Louis, Missouri on January 22, 1891. A very nice antique Colt Single Action "Frontier Six Shooter".
