Description:
This is one rare pistol. A first variation, military Finnish Lahti VKT L-35 pistol in excellent original condition. Only about 2000 of these rare guns were produced by the Finns in 1939-1940, with just a few being issued to the Finnish Army in time for the Winter War with the Soviet Union. This particular gun remains in its original "as issued" condition with about 90% of its original blueing remaining, with most of the wear limitied to the grip straps and to the high edges.
It is an all matching gun with the frame, slide and the bolt having the same serial number. The VKT marked grips and the bore are mint. The top of the slide is stamped with the Finnish Army property mark  -  SA(SUOMI ARMEA) inside a rectangle. The floorplate of the magazine is stamped with the same marking as well. The gun comes with an original excellent brown holster, marked SA on the lid. The L-35 Lahti pistol was designed to withstand the temperatures of the Northern winters and was built like a tank. It is a heavy gun with very light felt recoil and has a grip angle similar to a Luger pistol. The first variation guns had a very distinctively shaped, curved rear slide bridge, that was eliminated on the subsequent production pistols. Only a handful of these guns exist in US, and near all of them reside in collections. This is a great opportunity to acquire an all original example in very good condition. FFL or C&R where allowed.
