Description:
This is an old and beautiful military Walker COPY.  Whoever built this gun had a detailed knowledge of original Colt Walkers and paid strict attention to all details. It has a very deep brown patina, is very tight and is mechanically sound. Those of you who know Walkers know if this was an original-period Walker in the same condition it would run at minimum $400,000. There were only 1,100 original Walkers made and only 10 percent of those are known to have survived. The Walker is considered to be the greatest prize of any Colt collection. Because of the high demand, extreme rarity and high cost of originals there have been some very great and accurate copies built down through the years. Some of the biggest Colt collectors have owned a Copy to fill a prominent spot in their collection. I have also known serious collectors who have owned original Walkers which they kept in a safe and had a great Walker copy for display.
The case is a high-grade antique walnut with an ebony keyhole cover. It has a coffin-style lid like most of the earliest Colt cases had. The interior is blue velvet. The flask is marked Colts Patent in 3 places, the banners on the bottom of each side and the gate on the top. The bullet mold has the correct arched Colts Patent marking. The lock on the case works easily. I do not know when this Walker was made so if you plan to shoot it, first have it checked by a competent gun smith.
If you are interested in just the Walker I can separate the gun from the case and accoutrements and we can work out a fair price.
