CIVIL WAR COLT U.S. MODEL 1861 RIFLE SPECIAL MUSKET DATED 1863. 40” rifled .58 cal. barrel. All original and matching with matching “1863” dated lock plate and barrel. Extra nice example with good bright metal with perfect U.S. Government “V/P/EAGLEHEAD” barrel proofs and nice Colt address on lock. Lightly worn very nice stock with no cracks or bad dents. Cartouche no longer visible except for the darkened area where it was stamped to the rear of the side panel. Original ramrod. Excellent plus bore with crisp rifling. Perfect working order. Very nice looking and reasonably priced.
