EARLY COLT BLACK POWDER SINGLE ACTION .45 LC REVOLVER CA. 1884 W/ COLT FACTORY LETTER. All matching in the 100,xxx range. Colt Factory Records indicate it was shipped April 2, 1884 to Hibbard, Spencer & Bartlett, Chicago, Illinois as a blue gun with hard rubber grips. Still retains solid traces of the blue with the aged mellow grips over 100 year old ESA exempt “of the period” dealer addition-probably by Hibbard. All original parts and screws in fine condition. Barrel shortened to 4 ¾” very probably by the factory. Extra nice markings and barrel address. Very tight and in perfect working order with excellent bore and chambers. In same family for generations. Very handsome. Letter from Colt on order.
