This is the style with the closing tab that is stitched but not riveted. The front flap measures 6-1/8" wide by 4" high. The brass finial (stud) is the dome-shaped style. The inside measures 3-1/2" deep, 5" wide and about 1" front-to-back. The T.C. Williams mark is on the front panel, under the flap, and pretty legible. The leather is dark and pliable, not dry. The closing tab and belt loops are flexible and don't appear to be in danger of breaking or falling off. The front panel is partly separated from the left side for a little less than an inch starting at the top. Inside, the two thin pieces that line the inside are loose. One panel is intact but not attached on the sides anymore and one panel is separated and in a few pieces. One of a small number of original Civil War cartridge boxes we have for sale. A second example of the percussion pistol box, an 1864 pattern rifle box, a cavalry carbine box, and a McKeever box are listed separately or on eBay. We'll ship this in a box to ensure it arrives undamaged. See our other s for an ever-changing variety of military and commercial parts and accessories. SOLD |
