Description:
Model 1934 with 3-3/8 inch barrel in caliber 9mm. Gun is in excellent condition with about 80% original gold gilt having some wear at the high points. Elaborate engraving featuring scrolls and dot border covering most surfaces. Grips are of beautiful and rare black Mother of Pearl. On the left grip is a "crown/A" which is consistent with others found on firearms belonging to King Alfonso XIII of Spain. Scrollwork engraving covers the sides of the frame and the slide and also the grip straps.
King Alfonso XIII has an interesting life story being born after his father, King Alfonso XII, died. His mother served as regent until Alfonso's 16th birthday at which time he assumed full powers of the throne. King Alfonso was an accomplished shot and this pistol shows his passion for shooting and appreciation of fine firearms.
This is a beautiful 9mm Beretta with Royal ties that would make a great addition to any Beretta or military collection.
