Description:
A very nice Winchester 54 in SUPER scarce 22 Hornet. S/N 43*** with matching bolt made in 1935. 24" Barrel with an excellent mirror bore. Unaltered 54s in any caliber have become practically non-existent and to find one in 22 hornet is almost unheard of! There are no atrocious bolt or safety alterations so often seen (which also ruins the underlying stock), no tru oil top coat, no reblue, no recoil pad, and the matted area on top of rear receiver remains UNDRILLED. The inner components are all correct, chamber checked, and this rifle has never been reamed to K hornet or any other caliber. Finishes are a conservative 90% overall with an appropriate amount of wear that you would expect to see on a well cared for but used rifle that is now 84 years old! The factory installed Lyman 48 receiver sight functions properly and has a low matching # 8 between components, along with the correct factory installed dovetail filler plug on the rear sight barrel bulge. This is the real deal and you may be in for a very long wait to find nearly as good that has not been monkeyed around with.
