Description:
General Specs: Dakota, Year 2004, .375 H&H, 9lbs 9oz
Serial Number: 2815

For anyone seeking a big bore magazine (bolt action) rifle, Dakota Arms needs little introduction.  Long known for producing impeccable, custom made, controlled-round feed rifles that have been the choice of those wanting the best, most dependable and accurate hunting rifle available, the Model 76 is a stunning rifle in the looks department as well.  The Safari model is adorned with many standard features including XXX walnut stock with shadow line cheek piece, hand checkered, ebony forend tip, Ken Howell barrel band and inletted swivel studs, and a Devcon bedded stock.  The blue-printed action is hand polished and tuned to perfection by the best rifle smiths to instill confidence when the action heats up and lives are on the line depending on you and your rifle.  The 1” guaranteed accuracy from a big-bore, dangerous game rifle lends the ultimate confidence when the moment of truth is upon you.  This Model 76 Safari was custom ordered in 2004 by our client and has been range fired only.  He never had the opportunity to go to the Dark Continent as he had planned.  He did do his homework and ordered the rifle with several desirable and costly options, ie. ¼ rib rear sight with banded hood front sight, Talley quick detachable rings and bases, 3 panel checkered bolt handle, and a recoil reducer in the stock (1870 of Dakota factory options!).  New today this rifle would be right at $11,000.  In addition, he added one of the finest close-quarters, dangerous game Swarovski Habicht scopes in the 1.25 – 4 power with the Z3 reticle, another $1,000 option.  This Dakota 76 shows virtually as new, with not a mark in the wood, checkering, or metal.  Over the years there were only 3-4 boxes of ammo shot through this rifle.  The bore is perfect from throat to muzzle.  If we had the box and papers it would appear to be new in the box, it is that nice.  This rifle is a “pre-Remington era” Dakota…much more desirable than the newer ones in most people’s eyes.  We have priced this rifle to sell and with the very desirable ¼ rib (not often seen), hooded sight, Talley QD rings and bases, and Swarovski scope, this package has everything one could want in the venerable .375 H & H dangerous game chambering.  Don’t hesitate on this one…Thanks for looking!
