Description:
YOU CANON THIS GUN AT COMMONEWEALTH ARSENAL ON GUN . VERY SOON .  Very Good condition and guaranteed original rare Civil War Ball repeating cavalry carbine in .50 rimfire caliber. Lots of original case colors. All wood in excellent condition. Action and mechanics excellent. Only 1,002 Ball Carbines were manufactured by Lamson & Co. of Windsor, Vermont, whose manufacturer markings appear on the left side of the receiver. Unlike the Spencer this carbines loading tube is in the front of the Carbine. Seven shot. Much more compact than other Civil War carbines. Just a little over 36 inches total length. Inspection marks all over the gun. Bore is good with strong rifling and some gray and pitting. Stock has been revarnished a some point. Left side of wrist has a faint inspector cartouche. A very hard to find Ball Carbine at an excellent price.  Have owned or handled virtually all civil war carbines and this is by far my favorite for design, quality of machining and compactness.  THIS ONE HAS THE LOADING ROD ALSO. OTHER SITES MAY NOT POINT THAT OUT.
