All original with all the original and matching parts and in very good to fine condition. Has all the correct U.S. Ordnance inspector’s marks and two good cartouches on the stock to the rear of the ring bar. Fine metal with blue and patina mixed on barrel and frame a very nice original patina with hints of case hardening. Lock plate with dark greyish blue case colors and patina mix. Wood with the original finish-War used with original nicks and dings attesting to it’s not having been refinished. Has all the correct markings and Spencer Repeating Arms Company address and the 1860 patent date stamped on top of frame. Working order and excellent bore. Even has all the original screws in nice condition with original blue. Original tubular magazine. Superior example of a Civil War Spencer Cavalry Carbine with no later alterations. SOLD Antique: Yes |
