Historic and unusual British military Mark V revolver, made on a Mark I frame with checkered wooden grips. The gun is in very good condition with about 80% blue finish, and the bore is excellent. This gun was owned by Col. Archibald W. Smith, who served in WWI and achieved the rank of acting Colonel of the Gloucestershire Regiment in Flanders. After the war he served in Russia assisting the White Russians against the Bolsheviks, then later in India against the Afghans. He married and moved to the U.S. in 1929 but returned to England to serve during WWII as a member of the Adjutant General’s Staff. Included with the package are his uniform cap, his issue holster which he modified himself, and several photos of himself and others taken while he served in Waziristan. An interesting and historical package.
