Description:
Serial #1690, .38 Long Colt, 7 1/2" octagon barrel with a very good bore that has patches of mild pitting and freckling. This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, trigger guard, and backstrap (Conversion #4483 on the loading gate and arbor). The metal has a smooth, plum-brown patina overall, with some visible cleaning marks along the underside, and on the cylinder. the brass has developed a mottled, yellow-ochre patina. British proofs are present on the cylinder and barrel, and a spoon-shaped, extended thumb-piece was added to the ejector rod. The walnut grip has an added oil finish over minor handling marks and surface blemishes on both sides, including a series of linear impact marks on the left side. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. This is a great looking centerfire ‘61 Navy, and is in very good condition overall. Antique
