Payment Types Accepted: Visa,Master Card, Discover,Check Description: Manufactured by the Sterling Arms Corporation for only two short years between 1971 and 1972, the Model PPL .380 ACP pocket pistol is an interesting and unique handgun scarcely seen today. Resembling a cut-off High Standard .22 pistol this blow-back operated .380 ACP pistol features a factory blue finish, a 1 & 5/8ths inch barrel, a 8-shot magazine with a European-style heel release, an exposed hammer, and a crossbolt-type safety mounted in front of the trigger. The overall length of the PPL is 5.5" inches and it weighs 1 pound 6 ounces. From what we have been able to find online, the gun was reliable and reasonably comfortable to shoot but was not a commercial success due to the model's unconventional weird looks. As mentioned earlier, due to poor sales the model was discontinued after 2 years of production. This particular Sterling PPL is 100% original and in excellent condition overall. The original blue finish rates 97% with just a touch of high-edge wear and some minor handling marks. The bore is minty and bright with no imperfections, and what rifling there is in the super-short barrel is clean. The original checkered plastic grips are in great shape and free from any cracks, repairs, or chipping. They show some minor handling/storage marks consistent with the rest of the gun, but still look nice and clean. All of the controls and functions on this Sterling PPL are in perfect working order, and from what we can see the internals are just as clean and free from wear as the exterior. If you have been looking for a unique and interesting vintage handgun for your collection this scarce PPL pistol would be a great choice. It would be very hard to upgrade in condition from this clean example.
