Stephen Grant & Sons, "Best" bar action, side-lever hammer gun
Serial number 5927 (1889)
Here is a rare side-lever bar action Grant hammer gun that one seldom ever sees. Made in 1889 and made as Best Quality. It has newly sleeved 31" barrels made in the UK by Johnson's, Maker of barrels to Purdey, Boss and Holland and Holland. Proofed in 2019 at 1 1/4 ounce.
This Grant has had a strip and clean and service in the UK and also had a new leather covered pad installed there also
Engraving in very good and wood is very good with excellent figure in the stock. Stock and fore arm has had a re-fresh and is in excellent condition. This gun shoots fantastic with these new long barrels.
As Cyril Adams wrote in his book, Lock Stock and Barrels, "God shoots with a Stephen Grant side-lever hammer gun"
