Description:
This Winchester Was Produced around March of 1945. The carbine's serial number is 6560640. This Carbine is in as new condition! It still has protective grease in places. This carbine shows no sign of being fired. The factory letter from the F.N. America Company which is part of the firm that bought Winchester in 1989. Confirms that this carbine was part of the Winchester collection housed in New Haven Conn. When the company was bought out. This Winchester has all late parts. All of the parts are of course by Winchester. The stock is the late M1 stock with the "W" in the sling well. The top handguard is the correct unmarked handguard. The operating rod is the M2 type The trigger housing, sear and blued round bolt are the M2 type. The hammer is the M1 Type. The bore is minty! The type three barrel band is the correct Winchester coded band. The sling well shows no sign of ever having a sling fitted. The carbine did not come with a magazine. The magazine catch has the hook for the 30 round magazine. The carbine shows no sign of having a magazine installed. The original finish still shows sign of the protective grease coating. The stock does not have the government acceptance stamps as this carbine was never issued to the government. My understanding is that this was put together as a sample gun for production of carbines that were to be produced for the invasion of the Empire Of Japan. With these as installed M2 parts it would not be difficult to convert the carbine to full automatic as needed. This is an extremely rare and historical Winchester for the serious collector! To find a Carbine with the factory documents and in new condition is a real find! Search for hlvfineguns on google for more details.
