KRIDER OF PHILADELPHIA SIDE-BY-SIDE PERCUSSION SILVER MOUNTED COMBINATION RIFLE AND SHOTGUN. Krider of Philadelphia is renowned as one of the finest American gunmakers of the early 19th century. This silver-mounted, double .44-caliber gun(stamped "440" on muzzle crown) is rifled in the right barrel and smooth-bore and the left. Both are of equal weight. Silver-mounted with fine silver triggerguard, buttplate and rectangular patchbox, all finely engraved(Phila style). 31½" barrels with very good bores. Fine walnut stock with all the finish and solid construction with NO cracks or hairlines. Original hammers. Replacement ramrod is of the period.
