Description:
Presenting a spencer repeating rifle company Boston Massachusetts Model 1860 Saddle Ring Calvary Carbine.  The serial number is 28282 which is in the era of for production in 1863.  The top of the receiver is marked Spencer Repeating Rifle Co. Boston, Mass patented IFAROH1860.  This rifle was purchased at an at a farmhouse in western Pennsylvania  10 years ago.  It was taken to The Horse Soldier in Gettysburg Pennsylvania for examination and authentication.  All parts of the rifle our original except for the saddle ring which had been replaced sometime during the Civil War.  This gun is in good condition for an original civil war rifle as can be seen in the pictures.  I have been a Civil War reenactor for more than 20 years and have brought this rifle for display purposes to many reenactments. This rifle has been examined by hundredsof  reenactors.  The authenticity of this rifle has never been questioned.
