Description: Boxlocks - William Ford was a well known gunmaker in the Birmingham trade for well over 100 years. He was first known as a barrel maker and barrel borer and was known for doing special boring for the Greener competition guns in the late 1800\'s. I understand the William Ford business closed their shop in 1993. Being known for excellent barrels Ford has not let us down with this gun . Well struck but retaining excellent wall thickness these barrels are an excellent example of what the British gunmakers could do. The stock dimensions are modern and will fit many. Tastefully engraved with nice wood in very nice condition this tight little gun will make someone an excellent upland shotgun. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 3939 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection. |
