M. GRUNY OF EICHSTATT (BAVARIA) HAMMER UNDERLEVER DRILLING IN 16GA X 16GA X 9.3x72R, CIRCA 1897. Max Gruny was a gunsmith in Eichstatt and Ingolstadt in the late 19th century. Original 26 3/4" fluid steel barrels with pitted shotgun bores and same rifled barrel with bulge 1 5" from muzzle. Gun refinished at some point and reblued. Extensive game scenes abound including bullet trap. Right hammer a period replacement as well as hammer screw for left hammer. Original sights(rear manual flip up). Island locks. Original wood with checkering fading but original excellent condition horn buttplate with 13 1/2" LOP. Cheekrest. Tight on face so locks up tightly. Opens and cocks as it should. Collectors item only as bores pitted and rifle barrel bulged. Reasonably priced would make nice display item or representative collection piece. Antique.
