Description:
DESCRIPTION: Smith & Wesson #2 Old Model Army 6-shot revolver in caliber 32 Rimfire Long, 6" octagon barrel, full nickel finish, rosewood grips, square butt design, single-line barrel address on top rib and single-line patent date on the correct unfluted cylinder, half-moon brass front sight, rear sight notch integral with cylinder catch, top-hinge with barrel catch at bottom, single action, correctly lacking a half cock or safety feature, smooth spur trigger, serial # 19342, made 1864, was a popular backup gun for many Civil War participants. Comes with a correct black leather holster in which the revolver fits perfectly.
CONDITION: Retains 90% original thinning nickel plate over the blued barrel and brass frame, with the loss being spotty, especially in the high-traffic areas. Original rosewood grips are in near new condition, having only one ding at bottom left. Serial # matches on bottom of grip and inside of left grip wood. Assembly number matches on left lower frame, cylinder and barrel at breech. Bore is very good with sharp rifling and just minor scattered black powder fouling. Action is very tight and cylinder indexes perfectly every time. Just a hint of play in the top hinge. Holster is not marked anywhere that I can find and shows much cracking from age/drying but all rivets intact as well as brass flap catch. Hard to find a 155-year-old gun in this condition so don't pass this one up!!
TERMS: No international sales. Antique, so it can ship directly to you assuming your local laws allow it. Payment by bank check, money order, personal check, or all major credit cards with 3% surcharge. 3 day non-firing inspection. Buyer pays return shipping. Layaway available with 25% down and equal payments over 90 days. Offers considered. Thanks for looking. Interested in buying single pieces and collections of old firearms, especially Winchester, Colt, S&W, Marlin, Savage and Remington. 315.251.4799 with questions or concerns.
