Description: **Sale Pending** James MacNaughton Round Triggerplate Action, circa 1919, a very scarce 16 bore triggerplate round action from this famed Scottish maker, 16 bore, 2 3/4" chambers, brand new replacement 30" fluid steel nitro proved chopperlump barrels by the makers in 2013 as part of a restoration by Graham MacKinley in Scotland, new barrels by Bill Blacker who is Dickson & MacNaughton's barrel maker, new barrels recorded into the Dickson & MacNaughton record book as barrels by the maker, choked .007 IC and .014 Mod., smooth concave game rib engraved "James MacNaughton & Sons, 21 Frederick Street, Edinburgh", 14 5/8" LOP over a checkered horn butt plate, 1 3/4" DAC, 2 11/16" DAH, 1/8" cast off, 6 lbs. 13 oz., ejectors, double triggers, straight grip, splinter forend, automatic MacNaughton "lever" safety with "Safe" in gold, later barrel cocking design with normal top lever length, typical top tang inspection plate and inspection plate screw with cutout, fine and crisp stylized acanthus scroll engraving pattern with "MacNaughton & Sons" engraved on both sides of action, highly figured European walnut stock with refreshed checkering, A&D push button forend release, vacant gold oval. Excellent condition gun restored gun made to like new condition minus original case colors and unused since, the new barrels alone would be $12k.
