Description:
NSN, 8x36Rmm CF, 25 3/4" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a simply splendid rifle (made for a Swedish retailer: Mauritz Widforss in Stockholm) that retains 97-98% of the original blue finish on the barrel, and a commensurate amount of original color case-hardening on the receiver and bolt. Some thin silvering is present along some of the high edges and projections, but this is minor, and the color case-hardening is vibrant and bright. The wedge-fastened walnut stock has a checkered pistol grip and swooping continental cheek-piece, with scattered minor handling marks and minor blemishes in the original oil finish. There is a small sliver crack at the wrist and a barely noticeable hairline crack is present at the ramrod opening on the schnabel tip. The original barrel sights, and rear schuetzen aperture sight are still present, and both the original sight adjustment key, and brass ramrod as well as a dummy round made up by a former owner are also included. This is a truly handsome miniature Mauser target rifle, in excellent condition, and would make a splendid addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
