Description:
Serial #5CH5007, 9mm, 4 11/16" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a nice, British military marked pistol that has matching numbers on the frame, slide, and barrel. The metal retains 85-90% of the original dark gray phosphate finish that has silvered at the muzzle, along the gripstraps (which still has the visible “ghost" of the old Canadian Military Aid Board decal on the front), as well as along the raised edges and projections. Additionally, there is an unobtrusive import stamp on the butt at the edge of the magazine well. The checkered black resin grips are in fine shape having only minor flattening of the points and just a few very small handling marks and blemishes along the edges of both panels. The pistol comes with a single original “JI" marked Inglis magazine, and is housed in an original walnut combination holster/stock. The stock is crisply stamped on the wrist: “S.A.LTD./1945" (Small Arms Ltd). The wood is in excellent condition and has just a few very minor handling marks and small blemishes scattered about the original military oil finish while the metal retains nearly all of the original matte finish with some silvering and wear visible on the attachment iron. The lid shuts smartly and latches firmly and an original “C (Broad Arrow)" marked canvas hanger with “ZL&T Ltd" maker's mark (Zephyr Loom & Textile Ltd of Toronto) is attached. This is a fine-near excellent example of a World War II Inglis pistol and holster/stock rig overall. FFL or C&R
