Description:
The Dakota Model 76 is one of the most desirable hunting rifles in the world, proven on every continent, in every climate and on every type of game. Exemplifying the very best of bolt action innovation with exquisite lines and impeccable shot to shot precision, it has deservedly taken its place among the legendary rifles of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The Traveler breaks down into two sections-the receiver/stock and the barrel/forend-for compact carry. This African Grade comes with a 23” 7mm Dakota and a 23” 404 Dakota barrel. It features a highly upgraded walnut stock with a shadow line Monte Carlo cheekpiece, hand cut fleur-de-lis with ribbons wrap around checkering, an ebony forend tip and ebony cross bolt plugs. The satin finished stock has a metal grip cap and a Pachmayr recoil pad yielding a 14 1/8” length of pull. A three blade quarter rib rear sight and a front banded, hooded fiber optic front sight sit atop both barrels. A foliate arabesque pattern engraving adorns the receiver, bottom metal, grip cap, quarter rib, barrel band and front sight band. The bolt knob is rust blued with two panel checkering and the remaining metal is matte blued. Barrel band front and inletted rear sling swivel studs. Factory test fired only. Weight is 9.9 lbs with the 404 Dakota barrel.
