Description:
French Military 1873 Ordnance revolver manufactured at the St. Etienne arsenal (dated 1879).  These revolvers were manufactured from 1873 to 1887.  All matching numbers.  This revolver is built like a wagon, designed for a very robust 11mm cartridge.  Used all throughout the first world war.  The cylinder has been reamed out and rechambered to 45 Auto Rim cartridges as French 11mm is difficult to obtain.  This gun is a great shooter!  Shoots a 45 auto 230 gr. cast bullet.  comes with loaded 45 Auto Rim ammo. (Starline Brass).  45 Auto Rim ammo is easily reloaded.    Bore is bright and shinny  with sharp rifling.  there are several dark spots in the grooves.  Action is smooth and tight.  Comes with a WW I French Gunnery Officers holster rig complete with 3 original ammo pouches, shoulder "Y" straps and leather belt.  Ideal rig for the WW I French reanactor.  Antique no FFl needed.  $950
