Description:
A very nice original Winchester Pistol Grip Deluxe Takedown in the desirable 45/70 Caliber. Takedowns are rare in 86s since thet did not start making them till 1894. Production numbers on 86 fell off rapidly as the 94 gained popularity. This rifle has the std. 26" octagon barrel. The bore and riflings are bright, clean and very good. Has a Marbles rear sight.
The H checkering is worn enough to loose its sharpness but is still about 50% even under the forestock. Wood is good with only a few handling dings. Cody letter attached.
