Colt Officers Model Target 38 factory "B" engraved with factory pearl grips. Absolutely beautifully engraving attributed by Wilbur Glahn of Colt. Per the Colt letter the revolver was shipped September 30, 1936 to David A. Hay and charged to the Colt's loan account in a shipment of 1 gun. (demo gun, salsman's sample) It was returned to Colt on August 2, 1937 and shipped to Camp Perry on August 16, 1937. Again returned to Colt and subsequently shipped to J.F. Caldwell of Muskogee, Oklahoma on September 22, 1937. Currently on consignment to us from a three generation collection here in the Dallas area. The revolver, as pictured, is beautiful. There is some loss of the blue luster on the back and fore straps. A few very small, minor spotting on the barrel and trigger guard. It has been lightly fired. The factory pearl grips, while beautiful, are not perfect as there is a chip on the right panel above the Colt medallion. There is no box or other accessories.
