This Winchester Was Produced in 1933. The shotgun's serial number is 4908. It has the 26 inch round barrel. It is choked Modified. It has the early style pump handle. The stock is the early style with the round pistol grip. The butt plate is original to this gun. The "Pull" is 13 3/4 inches. All other measurements are standard for this shotgun. The bore is bright with no issues. The stock and forend have no cracks or damage. The original wood finish would rate a 92% overall. There are some handling marks and field marring on the stock from being in the field. The original bluing would rate a 94% overall condition. The action works very smooth with a crisp trigger release. This is a well cared for honest used shotgun. It shows hunting use but no abuse. The shotgun locks up tight with the take down feature and has no play. This is a very nice first year production Model 42 that has not been altered in any way. Having the Modified choke is a plus! Most of the field grade shotguns were Full choked. This shotgun should appeal to the collector of Model 42's for being a early model and being Modified choked as well as being honest used.
