Description:
This is a superb example of the rare and sought-after Colt Marshall .38 Special revolver.  Manufactured for only a couple of years between 1954 and 1956, Colt only produced about 2,500 of these round-butt revolvers.  These original Marshall models fall into the 833350 to 845320 serial number range.  This particular example is serial number 841269, and remains in exceptional all-original condition.  The Colt factory gloss blue finish is bright and beautiful, rating a conservative 95% plus.  The only real deductions are from a few tiny handling/storage marks and a very faint drag line around the cylinder, neither of which detract much from the pristine look of this Colt.  The bore in the 4" inch barrel is mirror-bright and clean, with nice sharp rifling throughout the bore.  The cylinder bores are also in excellent condition with no visible imperfections.  The original checkered American Walnut grips are beautiful on this Marshall, with no cracks, chips, wear, or repairs.  Both sides are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame with no wiggle.  These grips have the original silver Rampant Colt medallions intact and in excellent condition.  All of the factory stampings on this Colt are crisp and clean, and the hammer sides which were left "in the white" from the factory are bright and free from stains.  All of the controls on this Marshall are in perfect working order, and the action is perfectly "in time" whether it is worked fast or slow, or double or single action.  This rare Colt Marshall should function just as well today as the day it left the Colt factory 63 plus years ago.  If you have been looking for one of these incredibly hard-to-find Colts here is your chance to get a Marshall that would be nearly impossible to upgrade from.  A true "collector grade" piece and superb investment.
