Description:
William R. "Bill" Hurt (long time friend of the late Bill Moran) Camp Model  is the second ever produced such piece  (4/97) as the prototype (made with a curved back or spine) was used, tested and evaluated in an October 1997 issue of Knives Illustrated  about custom Camp Knives, is a mighty camp/survival knife from 5160 tool steel with a 12-1/4" blade by 1-7/8" width, large double oblong Ni-Ag mounts guard. This exquisite example of Bill Hurt's model shows intricate curlicues of inlaid silver in Bill's trademark curly maple handle. This is nonetheless than Bill's " Branch Motif" with silver wire "Berries" pins at each limb's end. The knife is contained in a wood-lined scabbard covered with Kudu skin and equipped with a swivel on the back. Incidentally the spine or back on this model is straight, blade shows the temper line. and bears JS on it as Bill was never inetrested to become a Master Smith in the ABS!
