Colt Single Action U.S. Artillery Model revolver. U.S. on frame, 5 ½” barrel, bore is very good plus, action works perfectly. Frame and trigger guard are both inspected by Ainsworth. Cylinder Inspected by Casey. Grips are marked R.A.C. and 1901. The R.A.C. (Rinaldo A. Carr) was the inspector for refurbishing the 7 ½” U.S. revolvers when they were sent to Colt for rework and installation of the more practical 5 ½” barrel, thus the name given by collector “Artillery Model”.
