Description:
SOLD...REDUCED PRICE....Excellent Antique Smith & Wesson #2 Army. Here is an excellent and great looking Smith & Wesson #2 Army in way above average condition. S/N 16220 so it falls well into the S/N range of possible Civil War usage. Standard 6" barrel..  .32 caliber rim fire of course.. This gun has quite a bit of finish as you can see. The barrel has at least 85% bright blue. The frame has about 30% blue with the front and rear grip straps flaked off to a nice even light brown patina. The cylinder has 40% bright blue and most of it is on one side by the markings maybe where the gun has laid and flaked off.. The hammer has about all of the vivid case colors on the left side and slightly fading out on the right side. . No pitting on the gun anywhere.. A very nice looking #2. The mechanics are excellent. This gun is crisp and tight as new PERIOD... Absolutely no wobble at the hinge as most of these always have even on high conditions ones like this one. Rock solid barrel to frame fit at the latch also.. The cylinder has no front to rear movement or wobbles at the front as most of these all have..... Hard to find a more tight and crisp gun unless brand new in the box maybe.. All the markings are excellent. All matching assembly numbers on the barrel, frame and cylinder. Grips number to the gun also. The grips are near excellent with a a very small nick on the bottom right side with a little flare wear.. A few minor dings and scratches from normal use. Still retain most varnish with some small flakes here and there. Perfect snap on factory fit. The bore is very fine with sharp rifling with some light frosting and no pits. Cylinder chambers are the same. This is a collectible grade #2. Never cleaned on or messed with... If your wanting one of these but don't want the common gray brown wobbly ones for $800 to $1000 and don't want to spend $2500 and up on a mint one, then this is the gun for you... Very reasonable at this price. Shop and compare... Then call me at 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos. $20 insured shipping.
