Here is a stunning example of the superb and ultra scarce Pre War Model 70 in 300 Magnum (H&H) caliber. S/N 10*** with matching bolt made in 1937! This is the original .300 Magnum caliber and still considered by many to be the best of all. They were marked simply "300 Magnum" during initial production, since it was years later before any other 300s came on the scene, prompting the need to designate between them. This rifle is in excellent condition throughout and just beautiful. There are a few light bumps and bruises to be expected on an 82 y.o. firearm, but really superb considering. It features all correct factory installed components, original finishes and NO extra drill holes, including the rear bridge. The receiver is of the beautiful polished blue type found only on the earliest 70s. Barrel is 26" with an excellent mirror bore. Mechanical function is also excellent. An outstanding and very collectible example of a difficult to find caliber/configuration.
