We have not seen very many shotguns that have the workmanship of this 1850's Belgian Pinfire Double Barrel in this price range. The combination of fine engraving, carved buffalo horn, hand-filed metalwork, and high quality French Walnut make this gun a work of art as well as a fine shotgun. The grip behind the trigger guard and the lever that opens the action are both made from hand carved buffalo horn. The engraved receiver and lockplates have two pheasants, two dogs, and a stag engraved on them. This shotgun would be a superb decorator or great addition to any antique arms collection.
