Description:
The Ruger Redhawk was introduced in 1980 and manufactued until 2015.  It was a very successful revolver design that quickly earned a reputation for being well-made, very reliable, and very accurate.  The stainless steel Redhawk model was offered in .41 Mag., .44 Mag., .357 Mag., and .45 LC, as well as in several barrel lengths.  The stainless steel construction and 6-shot single/double-action design was made for hard duty and was quite popular with hunters that required a magnum-chambered revolver, particularly those that hunted in harsh climates.  This particular example is serial number 500-31736 and was manufactured in 1982, the third year of production.  It features a 7.5" inch barrel, stainless steel construction, and a beautiful set of custom Stag grips complete with silver Ruger medallions.  It is in very good condition overall and appears to have been fired very little.  The biggest deduction from it's condition comes from three places on the bottom of the gun that looks like blood pitting.  These spots are pictured in a close-up in the listing, and really do not detract much from the overall clean look of this Ruger.  As you can see from the pictures, the rest of this Redhawk is very handsome and clean.  The bore in the 7.5" inch barrel is excellent and mirror-bright, free from any pitting, erosion, or visible imperfections whatsoever.  The rifling still shows sharp lands and grooves the entire length of the barrel.  The six cylinder bores are also in excellent condition, just like the barrel.  The custom Stag grips on this Ruger are really beautiful and perfectly fit to the gun.  Both sides show a lot of bark and character, and they are shaped perfectly for a right-handed grip.  The screw is blind on the left panel, with only the screw head visible on the right panel.  The silver Ruger medallions are nicely set into each grip and really make these grips look like they were factory installed.  These grips are free from any cracks, chips, or repairs, and both sides are tight to the gun with no wiggle.  All of the controls on this Redhawk are in perfect working order including the adjustable rear sight, and the action is perfectly "in time" whether it is worked fast or slow, or in double or single-action.  The factory trigger is very good for a Redhawk, particularly in single-action operation where it breaks with a light pull without any grit or slop.  We have no doubt that this Ruger will shoot just as accurately and reliably today as the day it left the factory 37 years ago.  This vintage Stainless Steel Redhawk is really a nice all-around piece, and would be an excellent addition to any collection as a shooter and long-term investment.
