Description:
Only 6000 of these Model 68s were made for the CHP between 1978 and 1988. With certain specs, like a K frame rated for .357, the 6" barrel, red ramp and flat black rear sights. When the CHP released these guns for public sale in 1990, the CHP was overstamped to what you see now- OHB. If you look under a loop, the overstamp is obvious. They were made to use the 110gr semi jacketed hollow point- the so-called "Treasury Load", specifically. This gun has had the rear sight removed to mount a Burris red dot, which works fine. Original rear sights for this gun can be found easily on the open market. This was almost certainly an issued CHP gun, as such there are a number of dings and bangs on the frame, most on the right side, which would have been exposed when worn by a right handed officer. This gun has an excellent trigger, and a clean bright bore. No box or paperwork. $35 shipping to the lower 48, 3% surcharge for using a CC.
