Description:
This is a very nice original Russian Military "Slab Side" AK-47 30-round magazine. These scarce and sought-after magazines were made at the Izhmash factory from late 1948 until 1954 only. They were constructed with heavy-duty 1mm thick steel and came blued from the factory. The Izhmash logo of a triangle with an arrow inside of it was stamped on the lower rear area of the magazine to the left of the spine. As a result of the short production run combined with hard-use in Russian Military service, these vintage "Slab Side" magazines are scarce in any condition, much less with the original blue finish intact. The original factory blue finish is in beautiful condition with only light handling marks/wear on this example. The numerous factory stampings and inspection marks are all clean and crisp, and the feed lips are in perfect shape. The left side of the magazine is electro-penciled with the serial number of the AK it was issued with, and the floorplate is stamped with that same serial number "6203" over "4". The follower and spring in this Russian AK magazine is in excellent shape and 100% functional. It is obvious that this particular magazine must have spent the majority of it's life in storage until it was sold off as surplus.
