SALE PENDING !!! Remington Model 870, 20Ga. Skeet, 26" VR. This is a very unusual 870. It is a fairly early gun, I think, SN 863,XXX and I cannot see any barrel letters. It appears to have been sold to a member of the US Military Occupation Force that was stationed in Japan after WW-II. It was explained to me by FEGA (Firearms Engravers Guild) that a service person could order a gun through the exchange and then have it engraved through the exchange by a Japanese craftperson. This appears to be one of those guns. The shotgun has almost 100% scroll engraving on the receiver and trigger guard and about 20% on the barrel. I am not an engraving expert but, this appears to be very well done with (5) silver inlays, (2) Pheasants and (3) ducks. The borders are even and I have not seen any errors in the scroll work. The gun has been restocked and upgraded with better wood and hand carved checkering in a fleur-de-lis pattern. There is a leather butt pad to replace the original plastic one. Overall the gun is in 95-96% condition show just a few small handling marks. This gun, as with all used guns, should be inspected by a trusted gunsmith before firing. We offer a 3 day, non firing, inspection period, with return privileges, at the buyers expense. No California sales, sorry. Shipping, packing and insurance will be at actual cost.
