Description:

Rare Civil War, martially marked Remington-Beals Army, .44 caliber, 8” barrel, six-shot percussion revolver produced in 1861-1862.   A total of ~1,900 of these were produced with only ~750 passing U.S. inspection.  This revolver is in the earlier range of martialed examples observed (which started at serial number #725).  It is serial range 11xx.

This particular revolver is completely matching with serial number on barrel, on frame under left grip and rear of the cylinder.  It has blue/gray patina overall appearance with blue on the barrel and cylinder, some on frame and loading lever, nice metal, edges, very-very fine bore and good screws, muted trace of case color on the hammer.  It has very good walnut grips with clear “WAT” cartouche on the right grip and good trace of cartouche on left grip.  The left grip does have a period repair to the heel (shown in pictures).  It also has all sub-inspector marks and a very tight action.  The brass trigger guard and silver cone front sight have nice patina.

I am not a dealer.  Just looking to move some things out of collection to make room.  Unfortunately, I can’t have everything!
