Description:
Colt New Line .41 rimfire revolver in excellent condition. Manufactured 1874-1879, with approximately 7000 total produced. These neat little revolvers featured a 5 shot cylinder, 2-1/4" or 4" barrels, and varnished rosewood grips. Metal finish was either nickel plated or blued with casehardened frame. This low serial numbered revolver features the far less common blue finish with casehardened frame. The condition is excellent with approximately 90% of the original casehardening remaining. the original blue would rate at 95% on the cylinder and 90% on the barrel. All screw slots are unmolested, the action locks up tight, and is in perfect time. The chambers are clean and the bore is bright with only some very minor frosting near the forcing cone. Colt New Lines are very hard to find in this condition. The fact that it is chambered in .41 and has blue/casehardened finished makes it that much more desirable.
