Double Action Self Defense Revolver!
Here we present an “AMERICAN BULLDOG” .38 Caliber Double Action Revolver, made circa the turn of the 20 Century. The revolver was a small, sturdy, well-built self-defense weapon, ideal for potent conceal and carry in the beginning of the 20th century and continuing into the “Roaring Twenties”!
This revolver features a double action trigger and five shots of .38 caliber center fire. The top of the barrel is marked “AMERICAN BULL DOG” and the grips have a dog’s head (more of a Spaniel than any likeness to a Bulldog) molded into them. The entirety is very nicely nickel plated.
The overall condition is fair. 95% of the original nickel finish remains with visible case colors. The markings are clear. The grips are heavily chipped on the bottom. The bore is in good shape with good rifling. The action is intermittent. The hammer and trigger do not always connect and a pull of the trigger may only revolve the cylinder at times.
This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
