Description: This 50-70 Trapdoor - Springfield - Model 1866 - 2nd Model Allin Conversion rifle has a round tapered 1" to 3/4" x 36-5/8" barrel with a folding leaf Musket rear sight. The bore is very good. The P grade Walnut stock is mounted with iron furniture, including sling swivels. No inspector's carthouche is visible. There is an unrepaired crack running through the rear lock bolt and scattered wood chips missing along the full length of the ramrod channel. The trapdoor breech block is dated 1866 over an American eagle, which indicates the 2nd Model Conversion. Stamped on the lock plate is 1865, US Springfield and the spread eagle. There is scattered metal flaking on the lock plate. Complete with original metal ramrod. Length of pull is 13-1/2", overall length is 56", weight is 9.4 lbs.
