Description:
The 1861 Enfield Musketoon was a shortened version of the Pattern 1853 Enfield Rifled Musket intended for British artillery or cavalry units.  While the barrel was shorter than the standard Pattern 1853, it had more rifling grooves and a faster twist rate whch made it just as accurate as the standard rifled musket.  During the American Civil War, the Confederacy imported a number of these Musketoons for use with their artillery and cavalry units.  This Parker Hale reproduction was made in the 1970's in England for sale in the United States.  These were very well-made and accurate copies of the original weapon, with a great deal of attention paid to the fit and finish.  This example is serial number 3269 and is in very good all-original condition, with an excellent bore.  More description to follow
