Providence Allen & Wheelock Providence Center Hammer Percussion .36 caliber revolver. “Providence Police” model. 5-Shot manufactured late 1850’s to early 1860’s. The “Providence Police” is thought by Allen Collectors to be revolvers for the Providence R.I. Police Department. Total manufactured thought to be approximately 700. Bore is worn but has rifling and some pits. Serial Number 92. Grips are near excellent with 98% original varnish, no crack, no chips, hard to find variant Allen revolver.
