Perfect for the Western Jewelry Lover in your life & In time for Christmas....Antique Native American Bear Serpentine Fetish and 925/sterling Silver tested bench made bead necklace. The bear fetish is serpentine. (many colors and used by many native craftsmen for larger pieces..) The bear measures 2.5" x 1.5" and had feather accents and a large bail so the necklace can be used with other pendants or the beads only. The beaded portion is 24" long with round and melon beads. This has been tested to be 925 (sterling) silver.The bead necklace is strung on sinew and is very strong and has no issues. Only the very early pieces were strung in this fashion. Later beads were strung on wire. Found no makers mark but would but would take a guess at Navaho origin. I wll leave that to the experts. Good Luck !!! Will gift wrap for Christmas on request. Stone ID by a friend that is a certified. gemologist .I was not certain. Did some research and it is often used in native jewelry and fetishes. Natural in several colors.
