Description: This Greene Breech loading Rifle is in great condition with it’s under hammer design and unusual oval- shaped bore, was invented by U.S. Army Lt. COL. J. Durrell Greene. Approximately 1,500 rifles were produced for sale in the United States and 3,000 for the Russian Government. 900 were purchased by the U.S Army these were the only black powder bolt action rifles to see service in the American civil war. Over all this rifle is very good condition with some minor field mark on the stock and barrel. This rifle is very rich with history and would look great in a collections.
