Description:
Serial #3656, .22 LR, 11 3/4" octagon barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is an attractive and well-made pistol that retains 90-92% of the original blue on the barrel that has silvered at the muzzle, as well as on the edges of the barrel facets. A single area of fading and mild surface oxidation is present on the left side of the barrel at the breech, and both the front and rear sights retain much of their original bright fire blue finish. The slab-sided frame with spurred trigger guard has retained a commensurate amount of the original color case-hardening with mild gray fading and freckling at the edges and high points. The gripstraps and action lever have a moderate amount of surface freckling from use, and a very small and unobtrusive import mark on the underside of the barrel. The walnut forend and checkered, bag-shaped grips are in fine shape with only minor handling marks and some mild flattening of the points. The lock-up is tight, and the action functions flawlessly. The sides of the frame are engraved with the misspelled name of W. Foerster (a Berlin retailer) in a riband on the left: “W. FOERSER"; and “Berlin" on the right. This is a great looking pistol, with an unusual and fully functional action. It rates fine-near excellent overall. FFL or C&R
