Description:
General Specs: Winchester, Year 1927, .32 Win special, 7lbs 12oz, LOP 13"
Serial Number: 1002279

The Winchester Model 94 succeeded the famous Winchester Model 1894, the first lever rifle able to fire the high-pressure smokeless powder that came with the .30 WCF, also known as the .30-30 caliber.  The Model 94 is the same rifle as the Model 1894 with a nomenclature change that occurred in 1920.  The Winchester M1894 comes from the era when cowboys still road high in their saddles throughout the West, armed with Colts and Winchesters, drifting with the cattle while real danger still existed from rogue Indians and highway robbers.  This rifle, Sn1002279 built in 1927, is a desirable “PRE-‘64” Winchester, SPECIAL-ORDER ½ MAGAZINE and is in REMARKABLE FACTORY ORIGINAL CONDITION with 94% barrel blue, 20% receiver blue with no flaking, and nice finish remaining on the wood.  The bolt retains 70% blue, hammer 85% blue, loading gate 80% blue, lever 70% blue, bottom tang 90% blue, and bottom link 80% blue.  The screws are all perfect and original, there are no cracks, splits, or repairs to the wood, and all the lettering and stamps are crisp and clear.  The barrel blue is strong, and no pits exist.  Most early M94 rifles have been used hard.  Even if cared for they will show bluing loss on the barrel, receiver, lever, and loading gate. The wood gets dinged up and scratched from traversing thick woods and bouncing in pick-up trucks, so when you find a 92-year old Winchester Model 94 in nice original condition it is something to take note of.  This is an opportunity for you to own a factory original Winchester 94 in .32 Winchester Special caliber that is the most popular deer hunting rifle ever produced, with over 7 million rifles having left the factory overall.  The .32 Winchester Special is a superior cartridge when compared to the .30-30, as it has more powder capacity, pushes bullets faster, and is known to be a more accurate round.  A few minutes of research will bear this out.  The value is in the high-condition early 1900’s rifles, and clearly the “PRE-‘64” Winchesters bring a premium over rifles built after this period.  This rifle is in superb mechanical condition with an amazingly excellent, shiny bore with sharp, strong rifling and no pits, and unaltered in any way since leaving the factory.  The original “32WS M94” rear sight and factory front sight are both intact.  There are no extra holes where an after-market sight may have been mounted.  The Winchester Model 94 is perfect for deer hunting in the wooded areas throughout the country and anywhere a true rifle with a 26 barrel is warranted.  Weighing 7 ¾ lbs, she is balanced to perfection and steady as a rock, making for a quick, accurate rifle.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity.  Thanks for looking!
